Distance Education Specialist
Liza Braunlich is the distance education specialist at the Purdue Center for Food and Agricultural Business. She joined the staff in early 2000 and focues a majority of her time on the MS-MBA in Food and Agribusiness Management program. She has responsibility for guiding faculty through the process of transforming face-to-face delivered materials into distance-delivered courses. She also manages course delivery for two on-going student groups and provides technical training on an as need basis.
Liza received her bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management from Purdue University and began a career with Furr’s Cafeteria, an organization based out of Lubbock, Texas, with approximately 150 units. She returned to Purdue University to become food service director for the Hospitality and Tourism Management program.
In 1995, Liza received a master’s degree in instructional research and development. She then formed her own consulting company, Service Quality Research Inc. (SQR Inc.) and began providing training and development services to the hospitality industries. Clients have included Paris, Las Vegas (Las Vegas), Bellagio (Las Vegas), Mirage Resorts Inc. (Las Vegas), Showboat Hotel and Casino (Atlantic City), American Family Farms, Rio Bravo (Apple South), Spageddies (Quality Dining) and Culver Cove Resort.
