Courtney Bir

Courtney Bir is an assistant professor of agricultural economics at Oklahoma State University. Bir received a Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Purdue University, a master’s in agricultural economics, a bachelor’s in agribusiness, and a bachelor’s in animal science from Oklahoma State University. Bir’s research combines eliciting consumer preferences for agricultural products and analysis of traditional production economics. Her work strives to determine if consumers’ preferences regarding production processes can be profitably incorporated or adopted by producers. Her extension programming focuses on farm finance and helping producers meet their operational goals. Bir also works closely with the veterinary industry to assess the status of the industry and help solve economic problems.
